ARTIST STATEMENT

I paint intuitively, allowing each canvas to become a conversation between colour, feeling and imagination. I am drawn to people, animals and moments that hold something slightly unexpected—a humour, a vulnerability, a tension or a story that isn't quite willing to reveal itself.

I don't paint to reproduce what I see. I paint what catches me.
Colour, expression and the occasional absurdity allow my subjects to step beyond the ordinary, inviting the viewer to pause, wonder and perhaps recognise something familiar beneath the surface.

I like leaving a little unsaid.
