Acrylic paint on canvas
60cm x 42cm
A moment of comic tension unfolds as a regal cheetah dominates the canvas, stoic and unblinking, while a cluster of alarmed guinea fowl huddle to the side-wide-eyed, squawking, and hilariously expressive. The layered, patchwork sky hints at the heat and haze of an African afternoon, adding depth and atmosphere to the drama. The contrast between the predator’s stillness and the frantic energy of his would-be prey gives the scene its delightful edge. Viewers are drawn into the imagined conversation: a mix of fear, suspicion, and gossip among the birds as they nervously assess their odds. Quirky yet grounded in real wildlife behaviour, the painting captures nature’s theatre with humour and painterly skill. A visual punchline in full colour.
