Acrylic paint on canvas

42cm x 60cm

Beneath the agitated surface, where light warps and memory blurs, a solitary figure emerges, suspended between worlds. The water, a cerulean shroud, holds the breath caught at the moment of submergence. Observe the eyes-are they turned upward in hope, searching for the lost light, or are they fixed on an internal horizon, bearing witness to a silent, profound transformation? The angel and banner fish glide by, indifferent guides in this liquid realm, their stripes echoing forgotten pathways. This is not drowning, nor is it peace; it is the Depth of the Surface, an endless moment of transition where the self is stripped bare, listening for the secrets the silence holds. What did he seek below, and what impossible truth did he find just beneath the threshold of air?
