but found the moon instead,
drifting pale and secret
through a summer-blue sky.
Daisies climbed her shoulders, the sea held its breath,
and for one impossible moment
day borrowed the night.
Perhaps some things appear
only when we stop looking-
a moon in daylight,
a memory in colour,
a little bit of magic
we didn’t know we needed.
