Soft pastel and charcoal on 180gsm recycled paper

30cm x 40cm

framed in a basic frame with glass front

This drawing captures the melancholic essence of a once-celebrated entertainer whose painted smile no longer conceals the weight of time and experience. His weary eyes, shaded with sorrow and deep reflection, speak of countless performances where joy was crafted for others, even as his own spirit faded. The rough textures and muted palette echo the erosion of innocence, revealing the raw vulnerability behind the mask. With a tilted head and a distant gaze, the Jester seems caught between nostalgia and resignation, embodying the bittersweet realization that the show must go on, even when the laughter has long since faded. This poignant portrayal is a testament to the fragile boundary between performance and reality, where joy and despair often intertwine.
